The city comes alive
FROM JB:
Our first night in town saw us putting on our dancing flip-flops to spin around at Downtown Alive. I fancy myself a dancer but clearly didn't fit in with the level of talent the attendees were displaying. And apologies to my tourism colleague whose toes I repeatedly stepped on before she gracefully called it quits.
If not up dancing, hundreds of people brought their chairs for a night of music and socializing. This is definitely the place to be on a Friday night in Lafayette. Of course, I also had to take a pic being the Y in the city sign.
We needed to escape to the air conditioning so we had dinner at the nearby Don's Seafood & Steak House. Thanks to our server who IDed me thinking I might be underage. (I'm 35. Bam!)
